Halsey’s New Song ‘Graveyard’ Hints At UNSTABLE G-Eazy Relationship!

What’s up guys it’s Emile Ennis Jr. here with Clevver News and on Thursday night, Halsey started dropping a LOT of info on her fans, and I’m here to break it down for you.

First, Halsey tweeted out the name of her next album – Manic. We knew that was the name of the album because she conveniently included the website link “manic the album” which she said was going to go live at 1:17PM PST – 27 minutes after she tweeted this out

Why 1:17 exactly? Well, if you click through to the website you’ll see that January 17th – 1/17 is when her album will be released.

On the website she also linked a live video of her painting something on a giant canvas. The video lasted SEVEN whole hours. I really don’t know how she does it. No potty breaks, no snacks, no NOTHING.

At the end of the video you can see that Halsey has been painting a self-portrait that is going to be the album art for her album “Manic.”

This isn’t the first time Halsey has done something like this. In February she was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live where she sang “eastside” and painted a simpler, much faster version of a self-portrait.

If you wanna check out the “Graveyard” video but don’t have 7 hours to spare, don’t worry because she also released a time-lapse version of the same painting, but from a different angle.
And that video actually has her new song “Graveyard” in it

The song debuted later that night along with the time-lapse video.

And it seems pretty evident that it’s about a certain ex-boyfriend of hers that she may or may not have ran into at the Savage X Fenty After Party at New York fashion week.

You know the one who went with his new supermodel girlfriend

Well Halsey might be having the last laugh, because she premiered the live version of Graveyard for the very first time earlier that night at the Savage X Fenty fashion event. Fortunately for G-Eazy, he wasn’t present at the time.

She said that the song is about “being in love with someone who is in a bad place and loving them so much that you don’t realize that you’re going to that bad place with them”

You can hear that throughout the lyrics of Graveyard. “I woulda followed you all the way, no matter how far. I know when you go down all your darkest roads I woulda followed you all the way to the graveyard”

Yikes. That’s pretty serious. Well, we know that Halsey and G-Eazy’s relationship was pretty tumultuous while it lasted.

Like remember when they had that little drug scandal on that little yacht in Miami?

They got into a pretty bad breakup and Halsey even went as far as calling him a “shitty dude” in an interview with our sister publication, Cosmopolitan.

She said

I don’t know for sure, but it sounds a bit like Halsey is saying that she might have changed her personality and her public persona to fit a narrative for G-Eazy.

And her songs post-breakup are REALLY different than the songs she was coming out with while they were still together. This upcoming album, her first since Hopeless Fountain Kingdom in 2017, has a much darker vibe with songs like “Nightmare” and “Graveyard”

And yeah, “Graveyard” isn’t grungy or really chilling like “Nightmare” was, but the names of her tracks are more like something you would see on her boyfriend YungBlud’s albums.

Such as “Anarchist”, “Eulogy”, or the very forward “Kill Somebody”

Anyway, I really do think that “Graveyard” is directed at G-Eazy. She’s made references to him before in songs. Like in the ‘Without Me’ music video when she had a G-Eazy look-alike act alongside her.

It showed a toxic, abusive relationship between a couple that many fans feel like reflected Halsey’s relationship with her rapper ex.

And who knows what’s to come in the official music video for “Graveyard”. Because while we have this great time-lapse video, I do think we’ll be getting another music video out of her for this.

Kinda like when Ari released the Piggy Smallz breathin’ music video before actually dropping the real one.

And Halsey’s fans definitely love what they’ve gotten so far. One person said “okay but can we please talk about how talented halsey is”

Another studious fan said “don’t mind me just wearing my halsey shirt with my halsey pants, while writing in my halsey notebook, while snuggling with my halsey blanket while listening to my halsey music.”

I’m gonna be writing in MY Halsey notebook about all the times that I’ve been impressed with her this era, because it’s already too much to count on my fingers.
