The 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards have come and gone, and there was surely no shortage of OMG moments, so get ready ‘cause we’re breaking it all down right now!

What’s up guys, it’s your host Sussan Mourad back here on Clevver News, and praise the MTV gods for helping kick start our week and turn our Monday completely around because last night was wild. But then again, what do you really expect when you stick Hollywood’s biggest stars in one room together to battle it out for a metal bucket of movie theater munchies?

Last night was a rollercoaster full of adrenaline, and we’re about to kick things off strong with The Rock’s INSANE drumline-inspired intro.

This guy had one helluva night, also taking home this year’s Generation Award AND delivering the most inspiring speech, saying QUOTE, “When I first got to Hollywood, Hollywood, they didn’t know what the hell to do with me. I mean, I was half-black, half-Samoan, 6 foot 4, 275-pound pro wrestler. I was told at that time, well, you gotta be a certain way. You gotta drop some weight. You gotta be somebody different. You gotta stop calling yourself ‘The Rock’. I made a choice, the choice was, I wasn’t gonna conform to Hollywood. Hollywood was gonna conform to me. I’m proudly half-black and half-Samoan and I wanted to bring those cultures here, up here for the world to see. So, yes it’s important that you are your most authentic self.”

BOOM. Speaking of speeches, Noah Centineo re-broke the hearts of girls around the world as he just about hit the nail on the head. He accepted two awards for his performance in To All The Boys I Loved Before and you better grab the tissues for this one.

Avengers End Game took home three awards last night, but we were literally SEEING triple when Captain Marvel AKA Brie Larson took the stage to accept her award for Best Fight. She brought up her two stunt doubles who she credits for doing all the dirty work.

And can we just say… YOWZA those are two of the most beautiful stunt doubles I think I’ve ever seen!

Girl freaking power! And moving onto the reality TV category and piping hot tea from the evening. Before presenting the award for Reality Royalty, reality superfan Nick Kroll and Rupaul’s Drag Race alum Trixie Mattel took part in a rather dramatic shade-off.

And here we are throwing zero shade and ALL jealousy at America’s newest sweetheart Haley Lu Richardson, who is most notably recognized in new film Five Feet Apart alongside Cole Sprouse. Haley attended tonight’s show as a nominee, but was also presenting… barefoot, that is.

In a totally relatable move, Haley had taken off her heels to avoid slipping on the runway, and to her surprise QUOTE, “I didn’t trip, so that’s a good thing!” On the topic of relatable, Sandra Bullock gave a heartfelt (and pretty hilarious) speech as if she were speaking to her own kids, that all mothers can surely relate to during her acceptance speech for Netflix’ hit terrifyingly-sure-to-knock-your-socks-right-off-of-you thriller Birdbox.

And on a much more serious note, the award for Best Documentary went to the ladies of Surviving R. Kelly in which they all bravely appeared on stage to accept the award and stand with millions of other survivors in hopes of letting their voice and resilience be heard.

CHILLS. I GOT THE CHILLS, GUYS. So what did I tell you? Rollercoaster, amiright? But that about sums it up on last night’s most OMG-worthy moments, so right now I want to turn it over to you guys — which of these moments was your favourite, and is there one we didn’t mention?
