Air conditioners sell out as Canadians search for cooling solutions to heatwave

A dome of hot air is suffocating the Pacific North West, with temperatures reaching 50 degrees and air conditioners selling out in many shops.

The heat has shown as crimson red on heat maps of the American states of California, Washington, Oregon and parts of Canada. It’s caused a spike in sudden deaths as 911 emergency lines are requesting people only call if there is a risk to life.
