Scottish woman pleading to be let out of quarantine to see seriously ill father

Claire Herriot is calling on the Scottish Government to let her out of quarantine to see her seriously ill father.

Miss Herriot is worried Gordon will pass away while locked up in a hotel as her mental health continues to deteriorate.

Claire, who lives in Turkey, flew to the UK to see him but has to quarantine in a hotel until 7 August. Turkey is on the UK’s ‘red list’ which means all arrivals must quarantine in a hotel for 10 days at a cost of £1,750.

Anyone feeling emotionally distressed or suicidal can call Samaritans for help on 116 123 or email jo@samaritans.org in the UK. In the US, call the Samaritans branch in your area or 1 (800) 273-TALK.
