Hero Kansas firefighter caught on video rescuing little girl from burning building | New York Post

Dramatic bodycam video captured the moment a Kansas firefighter rescued a little girl from a raging blaze that trapped several residents and injured six people, including two smoke-eaters.

The Labor Day blaze at the Shores Apartments complex in Wichita erupted about 8 a.m. and rapidly spread, the footage posted on Facebook by the city fire department shows.

A firefighter is seen running out of the inferno clutching the girl as heavy flames swirl in the fully engulfed building.

“They opened up one of the doors below where the fire was burning and they found two children and a mom, that were kind of startled that we were there,” said Capt. Chad Cox, KSN-TV reported.

“And they probably didn’t realize that there was actually a fire burning in the apartments above them,” he added.

The firefighters managed to rescue the residents within two minutes of arriving at the conflagration, officials said.
