Labour’s Rachel Reeves pledges to be ‘Britain’s first green Chancellor’

Labour has pledged to spend an extra £28bn a year to help Britain tackle the climate change crisis.

Rachel Reeves said she wanted to become the UK’s “first green Chancellor” as she outlined proposals for a massive investment in moving the country to greener technology.

Speaking to Labour’s annual conference in Brighton, she also promised to abolish business rates.
