Scotland’s First Minister: “We must not sleep walk into an emergency”

Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon described the situation with the Omicron variant as “serious”, reiterating her guidance for people in Scotland to stay at home more than normal, and to think seriously about attending events over the coming days and not to risk school closures at the start of term.

She also said she urgently wanted to speak to the Prime Minister Boris Johnson about measures to help businesses.
