2027 Hyundai Tucson – FIRST LOOK!

All-New Hyundai Tucson: A Full Redesign After Six Years

Overview
Hyundai has unveiled the fifth-generation, fully redesigned Tucson, its first complete overhaul in six years. Revealed at a media event in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, the new model features bolder styling, more interior space, upgraded gasoline and hybrid powertrains, improved ride comfort and quietness, stronger safety and convenience features, and a new digital platform called Pleos Connect. It will launch in Korea in October with 1.6-liter turbo gasoline and hybrid options.

Exterior and Interior
The Tucson adopts Hyundai’s Art of Steel design language, giving it a bolder, more dynamic look with new lighting details front and rear. The body grows in length, width, and wheelbase, increasing rear-seat space and easing entry and exit. Inside, a floating dashboard and large center display create a more open, modern cabin, with an off-road-focused XRT trim offering distinct styling. New exterior and interior color options are also added.

Powertrain
The gasoline engine now produces 193 PS, paired with an 8-speed automatic. The hybrid model delivers a combined 245 PS and 17.4 km/L fuel efficiency, with new features like Coasting Guide Control and Stay Mode, which allows EV-like use of climate and infotainment systems while parked.

Ride and Handling
Structural reinforcements improve stability and comfort despite the larger body. Hybrid models add E-Traction for smoother handling on rough roads, while reduced vibration, added sound insulation, and improved aerodynamics (drag coefficient down to 0.30) enhance overall refinement.

Safety and Convenience
New features include a backup-powered door unlock system for emergencies, Pedal Misapplication Safety Assist, forward collision-avoidance assist, and a segment-first Memory Reverse Assist. Standard equipment also includes nine airbags, smart cruise control, a surround-view monitor with ground view, and remote parking assist on higher trims.

Digital Experience
The Tucson introduces Pleos Connect, Hyundai’s first SUV digital platform, featuring the AI assistant Gleo AI and an app marketplace for streaming and entertainment, shown on a large 17-inch or 12.9-inch display.

Marketing
Hyundai is launching a Philip K. Dick-inspired campaign to promote the new Tucson, starting with a poster on the 21st and a digital film on the 23rd.
