Another Disney reboot MAY be coming our way and we can thank Selena Gomez and David Henrie!
What’s up y’all?! I’m Emile Ennis Jr. with Clevver News and David Henrie may have just dropped a “magical” bombshell for fans.
Remember all the Disney Channel classics of our time? “That’s So Raven” “Lizzie McGuire” “Wizards of Waverly Place?”
Well , looks like those days may not be in our memory for too long. Raven and Lizzie both have reboots that have legit got us screaming. We may have to wait a few more months for some “Lizzie McGuire” fun, but Raven has been entertaining us with her reboot “Raven’s Home.” But now the Russo’s may be joining the reboot party.
That’s right, “Wizards of Waverly Place” may come back to give us a taste of what’s been going on for this supernatural family. But unfortunately, as of right now, that’s a BIG maybe.
In a recent interview with ET, David Henire, who played Justin Russo, gave some major flashback vibes when he told reporters that him and Selena Gomez talk about a reboot “all the time.”
He said QUOTE “Selena and I have a reboot. We sit and talk about it all the time. It’s not formal, but Selena and I sit and we talk about what would the reboot be. We have a whole take. We have a whole thing.”
Ok, so it may not be formal with pen to paper, but still. How cool would a “Wizards” reunion be? I would soooo binge that.
Anyway, after news broke of the potential reboot, David even trolled fans by asking who would be interested in a reboot. And Let’s just say fans were all over this idea.
One fan tweeted, “This is the reboot I didn’t know I needed ?❤️ @selenagomez @DavidHenrie #WizardsOfWaverlyPlace ❤️❤️”
Another said, “I mean why not #WizardsOfWaverlyPlace went hard, I would honestly be down for a reboot no cap”
And someone tweeted what everyone else was thinking, “the best show on disney channel….. being rebooted. UM YES”
The fans have spoken Disney, give us this reboot or we riot. Well maybe not riot, but some seriously nasty tweets will be coming your way!
“Wizards of Waverly Place” famously followed the Russo family, who had three magical siblings including our girl Selena Gomez, David Henire and Jake T. Austin. This was honestly one of my favorites shows. “… Everything is not what it seems, When you can get all you wanted in your wildest dreams”
The show ended in 2012, after a TENSE finale where we saw Selena’s character, Alex Russo, being chosen as the “family wizard.” David felt this would be a PERFECT set-up for a reboot, which same David, same.
He told ET, “What made the Russo’s special is that we were a family. So the show ended, someone won the competition. We want to start the show a few years later — start them off at the worst place ever so throughout the series you give them a nice beautiful arc of reuniting.”
Awwwww Our Disney hearts are currently singing right now.
Hopefully this reboot becomes a reality because with all this talk I truly need this show in my life.
