Fans can be pretty crazy at concerts and music festivals. You never really know what’s going to happen – fighting, mobbing the tour bus, jumping up on stage. After years, you really think you’ve seen it all. But I gotta say, I’ve not once ever heard of a fan stealing a ring off of their favorite singer’s finger before today.
What’s up guys it’s Sussan Mourad here with Clevver News and while Billie Eilish was performing a set earlier this month, she lost a certain ring that she seemed to like a whole lot.
She was doing her set at Austin City Limits in early October when she decided to jump off stage and get up close and personal with the crowd while she performed her hit song “Ocean Eyes”.
She was hugging and singing along with some of her fans, but somewhere amongst the masses, she happened to lose the ring that she was wearing.
When the song ended, she went back on stage and noticed what happened.
But Billie being the queen she is, she didn’t seem too upset about it.
I mean, who would steal the ring off of the finger of Billie Eilish while she’s in a whole dang support boot?
She injured her right ankle at the Milano Rocks festival in late August and has been wearing the boot ever since.
And this isn’t the first time Billie has been in a rough shape like this.
She was also bound to wearing a very stylish Louis Vuitton boot at Outside Lands music festival in August 2018 after injuring the same foot.
She’s spoken out about her injuries in the past, attributing her quote “broken body” and accident prone ankles to her training as a dancer when she was little.
She was still in the same support boot during her most recent performance at the 7th annual “We Can Survive” concert in Los Angeles, which she headlined alongside Taylor Swift, The Jonas Brothers, Lizzo, and Camila Cabello.
So there Billie was, jumping and dancing around at Austin City Limits while still recovering from an injury, when someone supposedly snatched the ring from her finger.
And no matter how injured Billie was, it would take some serious thieving skills to manage to pull that off – literally.
But luckily, somebody actually caught the petty theft on camera. God bless 2019.
After Billie announced that she lost the ring, a woman on Twitter sent out a message to Billie. She said “This is the lady that stole Billie Eilish’s ring at ACL. My sister caught her on camera. RT so Billie can see!!!”
The woman in the video claimed to security that it was HER ring that fell off when she touched Billie’s hand.
The accuser went a step further in another tweet, saying “In this video you can hear her say “I took her ring!””
I mean, to be fair, the girl sounds surprised that she pulled Billie’s ring off. I’m going to say that it probably wasn’t her intention in the first place. She most likely wanted to get a good grip of Billie’s hand, and the ring slipped off onto the ground.
But the accuser managed to get one more photo of the girl holding the ring in her hand.
And she almost got away with it too, if it weren’t for that meddling iphone footage!
Oh, and TMZ, who somehow got a hold of the girl in the video and asked her about her intentions with the ring. According to the girl, she just wanted to take a photo with it. I mean, sure, that makes sense. I would do the same thing.
She said after her personal photo op, she took the ring to an Austin City Limits staffer. She said she hoped it would be returned to Billie.
No word yet if Billie actually got the ring back or not, but as it turns out, the ring is a piece of costume jewelry from Adina that cost less than $100 according to TMZ.
You can see it on her thumb in this photo that was taken before it came off.
She wore a thumb ring at last week’s We Can Survive concert that looks pretty similar to the one that fell off at Austin City Limits, but there’s no way to be sure if it’s the same one or just a lookalike.
So I guess until Billie makes a statement, the world will never know!
But I want to hear what you guys think. Would you have returned the ring? Do you think Billie actually got it back? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
