The BMW X7 was the long awaited, missing exponent that the upper echelon of the BMW portfolio so objectively needed. The first generation of its kind, the G07, was officially premiered in November 2018 at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Sales started soon after, while the market introduction started in Spring this year in several countries around the Globe.
In Greece, the new BMW X7 celebrate its market launch in June 2019. The national media event coincided with the premiere of the new 7 Series LCI as well. As for the high luxury sedan, the uber-premium SAV was also pictured in the beautiful scenery of the Thessaloniki and Chalkidiki regions.
The X7 boasts a sovereign and upscale design mostly inspired from the Concept X7 iPerformance concept showcased at the IAA Frankfurt 2017. The sophisticated styling, the state-of-the-art technologies and the all-rounding premium atmosphere are the main strong attribute of the G07 model series, unique and specific to the BMW high-ranking luxury models.
The engine lineup is sourced from the X5 (G05), as well as mostly any electronic management feature for ensuring a ride in supreme comfort. The Executive Drive Pro system makes it possible for the X5 to become a multivalent and multi-talented SAV, while preserving the hallmark sheer driving pleasure. For the most adventurous of its clients, the X7 can be optionally equipped with the xOffroad package, which is designed to suit mostly all possible terrains outside public roads.
For the Greek national press event, the chosen G07 model was the M Performance X7 M50d, powered by the astonishing B57 straight-six diesel engine. The powerful 6-cylinder unit with a 3.0 liter displacement makes use of quad-turbocharging to increase its peak output up to 294 kW / 400 PS (394 kW) achieved at 4,400 rpm. Maximum torque reaches a staggering 760 Nm (561 lb-ft) at a very low interval of 2,000 – 3,000 rpm.
The X7 M50d was finished in Carbon Black metallic exterior color exuding muscularity and beefiness, with the Cerium Gray accents and details further accentuating the special status of the M Performance model. The “shoes” of the X7 M50d were represented by the 22-inch code 755 M alloy wheels featuring a bicolor visual treatment in silver and Cerium Gray.
The cabin boasts a classy BMW Individual Merino Tartufo leather upholstery with extended content, CraftedClarity glass application for the electronic gear shifter, iDrive controller and engine start/stop button.
