If you’re a fan of Taylor Swift’s song Lover, you’re certainly not alone. I mean, apparently, even Taylor’s longtime enemy, Kim Kardashian has been listening to it.What’s up guys? It’s Emile Ennis Jr. here with Clevver News and could Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian’s feud actually be over?!I mean, we don’t know for sure, but we do know that over the weekend Kim posted an Instagram Story where Taylor’s song “Lover” can be heard in the background. And while that may not seem like a big deal to the average person, it’s a HUGE deal for long time Taylor and Kim fans. For those of us that are fans of both, this is the glimmer of hope of a reconciliation that we needed to get us through this Monday. And in case you forgot, the complicated history between Taylor and Kim reached its height when Kim released footage of Taylor and Kanye West‘s phone call about THOSE “Famous” lyrics and then Taylor clapped back in the form of her song, “Look What You Made Me Do.” Kim and Taylor’s feud really only exists because of Kanye’s feud with Taylor and I don’t know about y’all but I just wish these two could get along already and put the past in the past. I prefer when women are supporting other women, this drama is old and tired. And apparently Kim agrees. We’re in a place where Kim can listen to Taylor’s music and post it on her stories and not really care what other people think.I, for one, I don’t even know what to think about all of this. Here’s the clip from Kim’s stories where she was at a photoshoot and you can hear Lover playing in the background.Of course, fans had PLENTY to say about Kim’s song choice on social media. Twitter was flooded by the Swifties. And it’s pretty safe to say that they weren’t exactly buying the reconciliation rumors.
And while the die-hard Swifties we’re really here for the post, other fans were totally on Kim’s side. But it’s not exactly surprising that Kim was listening to Lover because Kim has said on multiple occasions that she is long over the drama. I mean even after she posted the original videos of THE phone call back in 2016 she told Billboard quote, “Ugh, do we really have to talk about Taylor Swift? I’m so over it. It wasn’t even about a look or anything, or to have this feud—it was like, ‘Okay, here’s the truth.’ Done. Let’s all move on. I feel like I don’t want to talk about her anymore.”And then earlier this year she reiterated that point to Andy Cohen on his show Watch What Happens Live.Kim continued on and said quote, “I feel like we’ve all moved on.”And this really does seem to be the truth, because this actually wasn’t the first time we’ve seen Kim jamming to Taylor’s music.
Shortly after her interview with Andy, Kim posted a snapchat where you can hear Taylor’s song Delicate playing in the background. And I actually have to break this one down a little bit for you.Sorry not sorry, the Swiftie in me is looking for Easter eggs.I found it interesting that Kim posted this video to Snapchat given that Snap WAS the platform where Kim released all her receipts throwing Taylor under the bus. So yeah, just had to point that out given their history. But Kim also has young daughters who are bound to discover Taylor’s music if they haven’t already.I could already see North loving the entire Lover album. But while Kim is clearly past the drama, Taylor isn’t exactly ready to publicly declare peace with Kim and Kanye. In August she told Vogue that being cancelled after her private phone call was released changed her as a person.Taylor also recently opened up to Rolling Stone about that Kanye phone call and their former friendship, giving a little more about her side of the story. So I guess Kim can play Taylor’s songs all she want but that doesn’t mean that Taylor will be accepting the olive branch any time soon.Though, this is how I am feeling about all of this.
