So you might have already heard about some of the biggest snubs in the Grammy nominations that came out earlier this morning, but now one artist is speaking out about the nominations list and why she’s not surprised that BTS got snubbed. What’s up guys, it’s Emile Ennis Jr. here with Clevver News and long before many of the musicians who were nominated woke up this morning, stan Twitter was already hard at work dragging anyone and everyone that they deemed fit. It all started with BTS, who didn’t receive any nominations for the award show that airs on CBS early next year. Shortly after the nominations were read live on air on “CBS This Morning” by Gayle King, Alicia Keys, and Bebe Rexha, the video was shared to Youtube where ARMY expressed their disappointment in the comments. And another read “I’m just WONDERING how they value each artist to make them GRAMMY NOMS?… I mean, based on what ?… English speaking skills?Last year, BTS made their Grammy red carpet debut, much to the pleasure of their fans. And they also made history as the first K-Pop group to present an award at the Grammys when they gave HER the award for the best R&B album category. So it was especially disappointing this year when BTS did NOT receive an award nomination of their own, especially after having such a great year with the success of their album “Map of the Soul: Persona”.Army took to Twitter to further voice their disappointment, where Halsey was already laying in wait. See, Halsey was also snubbed this year. She received no nominations, despite having her song “Without Me” go to number 1 over the summer, and having done a super popular collaboration with BTS – “Boy With Luv”.

So some BTS fans thought it was fake of her not to come to the band’s defense immediately after the nominations came out.Someone said in a since deleted tweet “Halsey can call out the industry for Taylor but not for BTS…but when I say she was milking their friendship, I’m the bad guy”.The Taylor Swift reference in this tweet is referring to late last week when Taylor Swift made a statement saying that Big Machine Records was supposedly holding her old songs hostage, and wouldn’t allow her to perform them on a television award show.Of some of the famous singers who quickly came to Taylor’s defense was Halsey, who said “You shouldn’t have to live in fear of protecting yourself from the people who are supposed to be on your side. And most young, wide eyed artists, don’t have the foresight to think they will need to. And it’s sad they would ever need to..”But now Halsey found herself in defense mode from fans who took the blame out on her for BTS’s Grammy snubs. And she got a lot of, er, feedback about that post. Halsey has a history of being snubbed at the Grammys. She’s only received one nomination in 2017 for “pop duo/group performance” for “Closer”, her smash hit collaboration with The Chainsmokers. But even her major collaborations aren’t guaranteed to get a Grammy nom, since Boy With Luv was snubbed this year as well. She’s never been nominated for any of the big four categories, including Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Album of the Year, or Best New Artist. After deleting her angry reply to that one fan earlier this morning, Halsey took a second to regroup, have some breakfast, and brush her teeth – as suggested. But still, some fans weren’t quite satisfied with that response as well.
But nevertheless, she persisted! Halsey went on to tweet “congrats to the nominees. so much great music nominated this year. definitely see a lot of my friends and colleagues missing from the nom lists, but the music speaks! this is how it goes every year right?”Which I think was her way of addressing the BTS snub and Taylor snub in the same breath, and not actually getting involved with anything that frankly wasn’t her business. And thrice the people came to persecute her! This time, it was all about Halsey diminishing the achievements of others.I mean, come on guys, what can Halsey do right here? I think BTS is pretty well recognized as one of the biggest acts out there today. Globally, their fanbase is bigger than most artists who are generally just popular in the United States. Halsey didn’t pick the nominations for the Grammys, or else she too would have been nominated! Let’s cut her a little slack.
