Billie Eilish is KILLING 2019 and making sure she goes into 2020 with a bang! She is breaking records left and right, and she just made Billboard history!

How’s it going? It’s Erin Robinson here with Clevver News and I’m so beyond proud of my fave, Billie Eilish! At just 17 years old, Billie has broken MAJOR music records and cemented herself in the music industry!

On Sunday night Billie not only performed “All The Good Girls Go To Hell” at the 2019 American music awards, she also took home MULTIPLE AWARDS!

Billie was nominated in 6 categories, New Artist, Artist Alternative Rock, Album Pop/Rock, Female Artist Pop/Rock, Social Artist and Video for ‘Bad Guy.’

Out of the 6 categories she took home 2 American Music Awards, one award for Best New Artist and Artist Alternative Rock! And let me just say her acceptance speech was ICONIC!

IDK where my dad went… #RELATABLE!! I just love Billie!

And if you were even slightly worried that Billie may take some time off, hit a creative rough patch… or you know somehow start hating music in the new year… don’t be, because she was just crowned Billboard’s Woman Of The Year 2019!

But she didn’t just get crowned with this coveted title… Billie is now officially the YOUNGEST artist to be given the Billboard “Woman Of The Year” title! Billboard announced the news Monday morning.

Billboard’s editorial director Hannah Karp said, “Billie has disrupted the entertainment industry through her music and social media platforms, leaving an indelible impact on the global cultural zeitgeist. Her ability to speak to the Gen-Z population, making teens and young adults feel accepted in today’s society has quickly allowed Eilish to grow to the top of the charts, breaking the mold for this generation with her electric hair-color and sharp attitude.”

And we couldn’t agree more with all of that. Say it louder Hannah Karp, for the people in the back!

But this isn’t the only record Billie has broken this year… oh no, actually far from it!

Billboard reports that back in August Billie managed to dethrone the longest-running No. 1 hit in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 when “Bad Guy” topped the chart.

And what song did she dethrone? None other than “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X, featuring Billy Ray Cyrus which topped the charts for 19 weeks.

She then proceeded to claim the title of first artist born THIS CENTURY to have a number 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart! Now that’s making me feel a litttttle old.

But it was her album “When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” that lead to Billie snagging this history making moment.

And if you thought I was done praising Billie for all her accomplishments, you’re mistaken!

We’re just getting started here people, buckle in.

According to Billboard, Billie was recently announced as the first solo woman to notch four different top 10 hits on the Alternative Songs airplay chart.

Her song “All the Good Girls Go to Hell” peaked at number 6, followed by “Bad Guy” and “Bury a Friend” which poth peaked at number 1, and her song “You Should See Me in a Crown” also reached number 7.

However, all this success has not come without it’s hurdles!

This year Billie severely sprained and/or broke BOTH of her ankles and was stuck in a boot for much of 2019.

Yes you heard that right. You may have not known it because she was still pushing through and performing, but she tripped and fell down some stairs just moments before she was supposed to go on stage.

And you better believe that we will be watching the live stream of that event on YouTube, I can’t wait to hear what Billie says in her speech. Hopefully she finds her dad at this point!

And we can’t wait to see what she does in 2020! We already know she’s nominated for 6 Grammys and something tells me she’s going to walk away with more than just a couple of those.

Do you agree with me? Are you as excited as we are that Billie is being honored as Billboard’s Woman Of The Year? Will you be live streaming her speech in a few weeks? And do you think she’ll be winning big at the Grammys next year?
