Iran has confirmed eight deaths from the the new coronavirus, with the number infected rising to 43.
Most of the infections have been in Qom. Health Minister Saeed Namaki urged people to avoid traveling to the city, a major site for Shi’ite pilgrims 120 km (75 miles) south of the capital Tehran.
The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Italy had reached 115.
