It’s been a whirlwind few weeks for One Direction with a reunion of some type officially on the horizon and Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson AND the official One-Direction social account are all re-following Zayn Malik on Twitter again. But did Liam recently reveal the exact reason why One Direction broke up in the first place?

Okay, so let’s back it all up for a hot second and get everyone on the same page. Zayn left the band at the end of March in 2015. The messy exit was essentially the beginning of the end for One Direction as the remaining boys last performed together on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve on New Year’s Eve in 2015. Shortly after that, the band took a hiatus that basically became permanent.
