Yesterday we almost fell for those Adele/Beyonce/Chris Martin collab rumors. And while the Adele rumor mill usually doesn’t pedal out too much, today we’re hit with another story about the British singer.
What’s up guys it’s Emile Ennis Jr. here with Clevver News and this time, it’s a dating rumor coming for Adele.
These rumors come off of her recent separation from her husband of 3 years, Simon Konecki. Adele filed for divorce in April, the couple was together for 8 years total.
The couple got together in 2011 and welcomed their son and only child, Angelo, in 2012! Adele’s rep released a statement from the couple in April saying, “committed to raising their son together lovingly”.
It seemed the split was pretty amicable or at least Adele didn’t seem to be too distraught after it because she posted a series of pics of her having a fab time on a boat, hiking, sight seeing … she was even spotted in a karaoke bar belting out tunes!
The two are currently co-parenting their son together as Adele is in the beginning stages of making her next album. Which we know is going to be a bop!
But a busy year might not be stopping Adele from dipping her toe in the dating pool again. Actually, The Sun reported earlier this year that Adele had said that she was eager to return to the dating scene.
Okay Adele we see you getting your groove back! And now people think that she’s getting cozy with British rapper Skepta. Like any average relationship in 2019, the two met through social media. Way back in 2016, Adele unprovoked tweeted out a photo of Skepta along with the caption “Tottenham Boy”…and she put a HEART!
See, Adele is ALSO from Tottenham and was just throwing out some love for someone from the same district in North London.As someone with a brain, Skepta retweeted Adele and added “Love you” with a rose.
And apparently the two got friendly from there. Later that year, Skepta told ES Magazine “Adele texts me all the time and keeps me in check. She speaks to me about how things are going.” So it seems like things started off pretty friendly at first. Hopefully, at least, because at the time Adele was still with her now ex-husband.
And Skepta went on to have a relationship with multiple women, including Naomi Campbell last year. But I guess things didn’t go well for that relationship. Rumor has it that she split up with him after discovering that he got another woman pregnant.
But that just means more things in common for Skepta and Adele….okay not the getting a woman pregnant thing, but I think you could argue that “Set Fire To The Rain” has been playing during many a conception. Anyway, Adele’s son turns 7 later this month, and Skepta’s daughter was born last November.
Since Adele’s split from Simon, it seems like the two have been spending more time together. According to a source, the two have kept in regular contact since April – when Adele officially had her separation.
So it’s possible that there was NO time wasted in between. And since then, the two have been on a number of dates. She was spotted at his birthday party in September.
So, sure, they could just be continuing a years long friendship. But sources close to Adele are saying otherwise.
“Adele and Skepta have been there for each other a lot after both their relationships split up”, one person said, “They have a close bond and there’s definitely a special connection.” And another said “They’re spending more and more time together. Some of their friends are hoping and predicting they could end up being a great couple one day.”
Yeah, I believe that! I mean, think of the music we’ll get if he is featured on her next album, which is rumored to come out in early 2020. Fans of both artists are excited for the possibilities of a blossoming new relationship as well.
Neither Adele nor Skepta have confirmed the rumors, and we haven’t seen any PDA from them yet. So for now we’ll just have to continue to see what the headlines are saying and hope to see a picture or two.
