Many have run away from forced marriages, beatings, rapes and lives of servitude – and they’re frantically worried the situation will deteriorate with the brand of extremism espoused by the Taliban.
The Taliban in Afghanistan have been making big strides in securing territory, particularly targeting the North, as the US prepares to withdraw from the country later this year.
