There are growing fears of civil war and economic collapse in Afghanistan amid the Taliban’s takeover of the country.
Following the withdrawal or UK and US troops, the Taliban are attempting to secure Kabul airport in order to re-establish much-needed imports of foods, equipment and foreign aid.
Meanwhile, in the country’s Panjshir valley, there are reports of fierce fighting between the Taliban and the national resistance front – and the prospect that Afghanistan could, once again, be plunged into civil war.
