Armed forces minister James Heappey says the government was ‘blindsided by the collapse of the Afghan government.’
When asked about how he felt Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab’s actions, Mr. Heappey says ‘no one phone call would have been decisive in changing the trajectory either for the collapse of the Afghan government or indeed for the acceleration of the airlift.’
