Africa: Gabon calls for financial rewards to help protect the rainforest

Africa’s most forested country Gabon is one of the most forested countries on earth. It is considered crucial for the future biodiversity of the planet, and the fight against climate change.

But now its Environment Minister has told Sky News that it will be very difficult to continue to protect Gabon’s rainforest without being properly compensated by the international community.
