Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says she thought she was going to be raped during the Jan. 6 Capitol siege.
“I didn’t think that I was just going to be killed. I thought other things were going to happen to me as well,” the New York City congresswoman told CNN in a segment set to air Monday.
Asked if that meant rape, AOC nodded and replied, “Yeah.
“Yeah, I thought I was.”
The socialist lawmaker — who has said she was a victim of previous sexual assault — hid in the bathroom of her office across the street as the chaos unfolded.
Her building is connected to the Capitol by underground tunnels.
Ocasio-Cortez said that while hiding, she heard someone outside yelling, “Where is she?!” from a corridor.
