Ariana Grande & Pete Davidson: A Look Back At Love One Year Post-Engagement!

At this time last year, all anyone was talking about was Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson’s relationship, but oh how a year can make a difference. They may have said thank u, next to each other, but we’ll probably never stop talking about these two.

What’s up guys? It’s Sussan Mourad here with Clevver News and here’s your throwback for this Thursday – exactly one year ago today Pete Davidson confirmed his engagement to Ariana Grande on the Tonight Show.

And just a friendly reminder that their engagement came less than a month after they started dating.

So I don’t think that many of us are exactly shocked that it didn’t work out.

But we’ve come a long way from their matching tattoos and their PDA-filled social media love fest.

In September of 2018 they were still making out in public, getting pets together, and adding more matching tattoos to their bodies.

But by October, we knew something was up when Pete covered up one of his Ariana inspired tats.

This fan noticed it on the October 6th episode of SNL saying quote, “What happened to Pete Davidson’s tattoo of the Dangerous Woman bunny ears?? #SNL”

And by October 14th, a source told TMZ that Ariana and Pete split up after five months of dating, calling off their short engagement.

While that was a real whirlwind for all of us, it was far from over.

Pete joked about his broken engagement in an SNL promo with Maggie Rogers and Jonah Hill, which caused Ariana to tweet at him.

She said quote, “For somebody who claims to hate relevancy you sure love clinging to it huh? Thank u, next”

Which was obviously foreshadowing her iconic song about all her exes, Thank U Next.

And since their breakup there have been many more deleted tweets, tattoo cover ups, blocking and unblocking each other, but now it looks like they’ve actually both moved on.

Pete famously had another short lived romance with actress Kate Beckinsale.

They were first spotted together in January at a Golden Globes party, but the couple has since split after only 4 months together.

And as for Ari? She seems to be doing just fine with the support of her family and friends.

No seriously, she and her friends are so close she even bought herself and 6 of her BFFs diamond engagement rings from Tiffany and wrote a song about it.
As you’d know, the line from her song 7 Rings says it all.

She says quote, “Wearing a ring, but ain’t gon’ be no “Mrs.” / Bought matching diamonds for six of my bitches / I’d rather spoil all my friends with my riches”

And to that I say YAAAS Ari. You do you.

And in case you are still wondering why Pete and Ari broke up… so are we.

Since the break up, pretty much every news outlet has written up a different reason as to why things didn’t work out.

Some speculated that Ari wasn’t happy about Pete reaching out to her ex Mac Miller before he tragically passed away.

And another theory is that the duo had been fighting a lot and people close to them knew it was coming. Apparently, they had very different ideas for their future.

Well there you have it, I guess that’s why you don’t need to get engaged after just a couple weeks.

Alright, now I want to hear from you!

Do you love seeing Ari single and living her best life with her friends? And are you happy to see that Pete is also doing so well?
