Armed Forces Minister: British troops can't continue Kabul airlift mission without US support

Armed Forces Minister James Heappey has given the clearest indication yet that UK troops will have to pull out of Kabul on August 31st, if the Government is unable to persuade the US to stay beyond that date.

Boris Johnson is expected to ask Joe Biden to extend the deadline for US forces leaving Afghanistan, in order to allow evacuation flights to continue.
