Defence Secretary Ben Wallace has admitted at a defence fair in London that if he were French he would be disappointed over the Australian decision to axe diesel electric-submarines with a French firm, and switch to the UK and US technology for nuclear submarine propulsion.
The initiative announced this week will focus on helping the Australian navy procure a fleet of nuclear-powered submarines which is seen as a response to growing concerns over China.
