Australia expects to continue to sell coal ‘for decades into the future’

Australia has said it intends to continue selling coal ‘decades into the future’ – despite pledges at the COP26 summit from more than 40 countries to reduce their dependence on the fossil fuel.

The country’s resources minister Keith Pitt said the government had been clear it wouldn’t be closing coal mines or coal fired power stations.
