Littlest victims of war: The faces of Israeli child hostages in Hamas slaughter

News- US

http://youtu.be/MleJJ9NiObQ Heartbreaking accounts are emerging of the scores of children who were taken captive by Hamas when the terrorist group unleashed its unprecedented assault over the weekend — and the innocent kids thought to be in the attackers’ hands are as young as 9 months old. Loved ones in Israel and abroad are now scrambling for answers, and – in the wake of Hamas’ pledge to execute one hostage for every Israeli airstrike that hits a Gazan home – are begging the abductors to spare the youngest lives. The terror group, meanwhile, claims to have stockpiled “dozens” of captives in “safe places and tunnels and resistance” over the border in Gaza, Hamas spokesperson Abu Obeid said in a Telegram post. Below, are the stories of some of the youngest hostages who are believed to...

Dem Rep. Ritchie Torres rips half-hearted DSA rally apology as ‘despicable’

News- US

http://youtu.be/EJ2MqJcRZ9A A Bronx House Democrat ripped a socialist group as “despicable,” after it gave a half-hearted apology for promoting a virulent pro-Palestinian rally in Manhattan last weekend. Rep. Ritchie Torres noted that the Democratic Socialists of America’s New York City chapter’s delayed mea culpa Tuesday for the rally couldn’t “even be bothered to mention, much less condemn, Hamas and its mass murder of Jews,” in a Wednesday X post. “It refers vaguely to ‘loved ones in harm’s way.’ It projects moral outrage only when blaming Israel as the ‘root cause’ of the violence,” Torres said of the statement. “The DSA, despite the name, is not democratic. It’s despicable, detestable, disgraceful, and disgraced. The same can be said of anyone who enables them.” The widely critic...

News- US

http://youtu.be/ESUfX2htm1w Rep. Ilhan Omar elicited outrage with a public entreaty for the US to shift from giving Israel “unconditional weapons sales and military aid” to diplomacy. NY Post reporter Ryan King shares this story. Omar (D-Minn.), a member of the so-called “Squad,” also harped on the plight of the Palestinians and suggested that Israel’s retaliation against terrorist group Hamas might be a “war crime.” “The Israeli Defense Minister has called Palestinians ‘human animals’ and promised to cut off all electricity, all food, and all fuel to civilians in Gaza,” Omar wrote in a lengthy thread on X, formerly Twitter. “This is collective punishment, a war crime, and the U.S. should oppose any violations of international law if we truly support a rules-based international order,...

U.S. Representative Scalise: Still have work to do to get House open again

News- US

http://youtu.be/nG2uUy3nFjk Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives nominated Steve Scalise to be the chamber's next speaker on Wednesday (October 11), a challenging role after hard-right members of his party cut short the tenure of the last three holders of the position. But the New Orleans-born lawmaker has faced adversity before -- including a 2017 shooting when he was badly wounded by a gunman angry about then-President Donald Trump and Republican lawmakers. Scalise, 58, prevailed on Wednesday in a closed-door party vote. Getting the role, which is second in line to the presidency after the vice president, will require winning the support of a majority of the House, which Republicans control by a 221-212 majority. Hardline Republicans made predecessor Kevin McCarthy the fi...

Harvard students take back support for letter attacking Israel as some CEOs look to blacklist them

News- US

Four of the initial 34 student organizations attached to the inflammatory statement have already withdrawn their support — while board members of other groups have quit to distance themselves. Late Tuesday, 17 other Harvard groups joined around 500 faculty and staff and 3,000 others in signing a counter-statement attacking the other groups’ letter as “completely wrong and deeply offensive,” according to the campus paper, the Harvard Crimson. News- US

http://youtu.be/7fmahzTQppw Hundreds of pro-Palestinian demonstrators, organized by the Democratic Socialists of America, rallied on October 8 in the Big Apple — stomping on and burning the Israeli flag — as Islamic terrorists in the Gaza Strip continued their assault on the Jewish state. NY Post reporter Jon Levine has more on this story. Scores of counter-protesters turned out in support of Israel at the Manhattan rally, too, with verbal clashes between the opposing sides escalating throughout the day and at least one skirmish breaking out near the United Nations compound in Midtown. One attendee in the pro-Palestinian camp was pictured holding up an image of a swastika on their phone — a day after 700 Jews were slaughtered by Hamas. Dad strips down to crop top, Daisy Dukes at school board meeting to protest lax dress code

News- US

http://youtu.be/bdCKWHPLxh4 A frustrated Arizona father stripped down to a belly-baring crop top and unnervingly taut jean shorts during a packed school board meeting to protest its lax dress code policy. Ira Latham removed his shirt at a podium, revealing a black garment that strained beneath his substantial midsection as startled parents in attendance looked on during the late-September gathering in Gilbert. He completed the jarring ensemble with a pair of snug jean shorts, according to NBC 12. “Under the proposed policy this would be appropriate in a classroom,” he told the audience at the Higley Unified School District meeting. Latham said he picked up the items at a local thrift store ahead of his bold fashion statement. Read more at https://nypost.com/2023/10/11/dad-strips-down...

News- US

http://youtu.be/viAb_YVPC6g The White House has condemned comments by some congressional “Squad” members about the devastating terrorist attacks on Israel as “wrong,” “repugnant” and “disgraceful.” Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked Tuesday for President Biden’s response to the progressive lawmakers who focused on calling for an immediate cease-fire and for the US to stop funding Israel. “I’ve seen some of those statements this weekend, and we’re going to continue to be very clear. We believe they’re wrong, we believe they’re repugnant, and we believe they’re disgraceful,” Jean-Pierre said, without naming names. “Our condemnation belongs squarely with terrorists who have brutally murdered, raped, kidnapped hundreds, hundreds of Israelis. News- US

http://youtu.be/Jx908vrA8GY Former U.S. president Donald Trump blasted President Joe Biden during a campaign event on Wednesday (October 11) saying "America's enemies" were taking advantage of Biden's administration. Trump's comments came as he was weighing in on the deadly attacks on Israel by Palestinian Hamas militants over the weekend that killed thousands. I never thought I’d ever — anyway,” Biden, 80, told leaders of Jewish groups at the White House on Wednesday.
