The unoccupied property - valued at $381,200 - was stood on stilts on the Cape Hatteras National Seashore in North Carolina, USA, before a huge gust of wind toppled it. Heavy tides had weakened the supports before strong winds sent the four-bed home in Rodanthe, North Carolina, into the Atlantic Ocean (10/05/22). Waves can be seen rolling under the raised building, causing the footings under the stilts to erode, and sent it crashing into the water. The house was then thrashed about in the rough sea and gradually broken up.
