BMW X7 M50i gets showcased in Alpine White with BMW Individual interior The BMW Abu Dhabi dealership is unveiling a brand new masterpiece: A BMW X7 M50i featured in Alpine White color and adorned with BMW Individual appointments. The next star of the Abu Dhabi showroom is the M Performance X7 M50i model. The luxury SAV is specced in a rather flat and uninspiring exterior color, which gets sparkled up by some additional BMW Individual options. SPIED: BMW 7 Series seen with tweaked headlights for second facelift When BMW first facelifted the G11 7 Series, its new design was controversial, to put it lightly. Its monstrous grilles seemed to polarize a lot of the fanbase. However, one of the better looking aspects of the fresh-faced 7 Series was its new headlight design. BMW i3s wins Autocar’s “City Slicker” long-term award Few cars in the Bavarian lineup are criticized as heavily as the BMW i3. It’s lack of range compared to other EVs, high price tag and sparse equipment list make it an easy target for most enthusiasts. BMW E-Power Roadster – Electric Bike Just As Fast As the S 1000 RR At a recent press event, BMW Motorrad introduced the BMW E-Power Roadster Prototype. The fancy name showcases an electric bike prototype which is in the early concept stages. The E-Power Roadster Concept uses some of the engineering elements of the Vision DC Roadster concept we saw last year, but it bears little resemblance to the DC.  Instead, it gets its look from a combination of different BMW motorcycles. The front-end comes from an S 1000 R, while the rear drive is from an R1200RS. The frame has been custom-made, while the drivetrain comes from the car division. BMW boss says no electric motorcycles for 5 years BMW unveiled their first electric motorcycle in June 2019. The Vision DC Roadster was the first of its kind from the BMW Motorrad brand and a bike that replaces the boxer engine with batteries and an electric motor. While the Vision DC Roadster lacks the old-school boxer engine, its electric powertrain echoes the past. The battery is  vertically-fitted and longitudinally-oriented where the boxer engine would have been. Like the old boxer engine, two side elements with cooling ribs flank the battery to cool it down. BMW i3 owner covers 277,000 kilometers on original brakes One of the advantages electric cars bring to the table is the cheap maintenance cost. Unlike conventional cars, EVs such as the BMW i3, don’t need oil changes or filter changes as it would be the case on internal combustion cars. As a matter of fact, they rarely need their brakes replaced, as they use regenerative braking especially around town. BMW extends battery warranty on i3 to 8 years or 160,000 km in Europe BMW still has big plans for its first ever all electric vehicle, the i3. Last year, the Germans announced it will be kept in production for more than the traditional 7 years, with the company saying it will keep making the revolutionary vehicle up to and including 2024. With the new year, the BMW i3 is also getting a big boost in battery warranty, to 8 years or 160,000 kilometers for the European market. According to BMW the achievable vehicle range decreases only marginally even after high mileage. Unfortunately, they didn’t offer an exact number. BMW boss Zipse finds car-free city center “worth striving for” It is rather unusual for the boss of a carmaker to talk about the benefits of car-free city centers. However, BMW boss Oliver Zipse is apparently not afraid of the current debates. In an interview with Süddeutsche Zeitung, Zipse frankly explains  that he prefers to travel in Munich by subway rather than by car. The two compact hatches are competing in the entry-level premium segment and they both bring to the table a front-wheel drive architecture. The two cars are very close in terms of performance. The BMW M135i xDrive uses a 2-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged mill mounted transversely in the engine bay, making 306 HP and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. Or will they? That’s exactly what the BMW engineers in Munich did this Summer. Out of nowhere, BMW has put out a one-off concept model which was dubbed the BMW X7 pickup-truck. 2020 BMW X3 xDrive30e plug-in hybrid priced slightly below $50,000 The first-ever BMW X3 plug-in hybrid goes on sale in 2020. Today, we learned that the 2020 BMW X3 xDrive30e will be priced at $49,545 MSRP, including destination & handling. That base price positions the X3 xDrive30e at $4,600 more than the regular X3 xDrive30i ($44,945), but below the X3 M40i ($56,895). The 2020 BMW X3 xDrive30e arrives in a competitive segment where it will go head-to-head with the Volvo XC60 T8 ($54,945) and the Mercedes-Benz GLC 350e ($51,645). The XC60 T8 makes 400 hp and the GLC 350e is rated at 315 hp.
