Bad Bunny’s CONTROVERSIAL Super Bowl Moment Explained

Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny is set to headline the Super Bowl LX halftime show, but his upcoming performance is already stirring controversy. According to WIRED, the NFL confirmed that Bad Bunny, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, will take the stage this February. Dubbed the “King of Latin Trap,” he is credited with bringing Spanish-language rap music into the global mainstream.

Right-wing commentators, including Benny Johnson from The Benny Show, have accused Bad Bunny of being “anti-ICE” and “anti-Trump,” pointing to his past criticism of U.S. immigration policy and his decision to skip mainland tour dates. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene have also weighed in, with Greene calling for English to be the official language of the United States. Critics aside, some voices, like Charlamagne tha God on The Breakfast Club, questioned why similar outrage didn’t follow the 2020 halftime show with JLo and Shakira, while the NFL has not publicly commented.
