BMW i8 Roadster LimeLight Edition – Stunning Custom Work
BMW Italia and Alcantara S.p.A are bringing to life a flashy and edgy BMW i8 Roadster under the LimeLight Edition badge. The one-off model stands out not only with its bright color but also with a custom interior design. The seats, dashboard, door panels and steering wheel are all upholstered in Alcantara, in black combined with accents in the glowing exterior color.
The seats are without a doubt our favorite. They feature yellow contrast stitching as well as a yellow inner section with patterns immortalized by laser in the material are reminiscent of the BMW logo. Of course, the BMW i8 Roadster LimeLight Edition comes with a carbon fiber trim as well, paired with blue ambient lighting and i8 LimeLight Edition inscriptions.
Of course, the collaboration between BMW i and Alcantara is no coincidence. Just like the plug-in hybrid sportscar, Alcantara stands for sustainable enjoyment. The company have had a neutral carbon footprint since 2009, therefore Alcantara was able to prove this status in front of all other Italian companies. The CO2 neutrality of Alcantara was already certified by TÜV Süd in 2009 and has now been confirmed for the tenth time.
In the case of the BMW i8 Roadster, the hybrid drive has been ensuring that fuel consumption levels are significantly lower than other sportscars in this performance class. Thanks to its ability to drive without local emissions, the BMW i8 comes to a standard consumption of 2.1 liters per 100 kilometers, which corresponds to a CO2 emissions of 46 grams per kilometer.
If performance is required instead of efficiency, the BMW i8 Roadster accelerates from 0 to 100 in 4.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h. The combined power output is 369 horsepower and the electric drive range is rated at 53 km.
In the case of the BMW i8 Roadster LimeLight Edition, the power is kept in check by high-performance brakes featuring yellow calipers.
