Two migrants have been found dead in floating barbed-wired buoys installed by Texas officials last month to halt illegal crossings over the Rio Grande from Mexico. The migrants – whose names and nationalities have not been made public – are believed to have drowned. It is unclear whether the deaths are connected, report local media.
The huge river barrier was installed last month (July) in a bid a halt illegal immigration into the US from Mexico. Reinforced with barbed wire and with netting underneath, it is designed to be impossible to cross.
