The global supply chain has been crippled as the government delays Brexit border checks to July 2022 to try and ease red tape.
The UK has further delayed implementing post-Brexit border controls on agricultural and food imports from the EU, blaming the pandemic for disrupting global supply chains.
One shipping director said the difficulties in shipping-in products were the worst for decades.
