Cabinet Office Minister Stephen Barclay has refused to apologise after a highly-critical report by MPs found mistakes handling the pandemic cost thousands of lives.
Mr Barclay defended the government’s response to COVID-19, saying ministers have followed the scientific advice throughout the pandemic.
