Met Police Commissioner Cressida Dick says she has personally apologised to Sarah Everard’s family and said the force was “sickened, angered and devastated” by Wayne Couzens’ crimes adding “they are dreadful, and everyone in policing feels betrayed”.
Couzens has pleaded guilty to the murder of Ms Everard.
Ms Everard, 33, vanished while walking home from a friend’s house in Clapham, south London, in March.
