Birmingham, Kent, Newcastle and Manchester will be in Tier 3, while London and Liverpool will be placed in Tier 2 of England’s new lockdown system.
The Prime Minister is due to hold a news conference later today to explain his reasons behind the tier system.
But prior to the announcement the government launched a postcode checker for England’s regions.
