BREAKING: Home Secretary announces inquiry into police ‘failings’ following Sarah Everard murder

Home Secretary Priti Patel has announced an independent inquiry into the “failings” by the police following the murder of Sarah Everard by a serving officer.

Speaking at the Conservative party conference in Manchester Ms Patel said the public had a right to know what “systematic failures” meant Ms Everard’s killer was able to work in the police.
