Hundreds of lanterns dot the night sky in northern Taiwan on Tuesday (February 15) as crowds attend the Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival to pray for good health and fortune, a highlight of the island’s two-week Lunar NewYear celebrations.
The Lantern Festival culminates the Chinese New Year celebrations on the 15th day of the first lunar month. It’s also the first full moon of the year, signaling the start of spring.
