Camila Cabello AKA one of the most beautiful women we know, is getting body shamed online. And she’s finally had enough
Hey guys it’s Sussan Mourad here with Clevver News and Camila is shutting down people on social media for making comments about her body – and she’s not doing it for herself
Ever since news got out that she may or may not be dating Shawn Mendes, people, particularly some Shawn Mendes fans, are body shaming the 22-year-old.
Taking a quick break from her social media hiatus, Camila went to her Instagram story to voice her concern.
She said “honestly first thing I felt was super insecure just imagining what these pictures must look like… ‘oh no, my cellulite! Oh no, I didn’t suck in my stomach”
Luckily for Camila though, she says that it didn’t really get to her “of course there are bad pictures, of course there are bad angles, my body’s not made of rock or all muscle for that matter”
Her concern though, is for younger girls, like her little sister, growing up in a world of unattainable beauty standards.
“I’m writing this for girls like my little sister who are growing up on social media. They’re constantly seeing photoshopped, edited pictures and thinking that’s reality…. It isn’t. It’s fake.”
She finishes the message by saying “Girls, cellulite is normal. Fat is normal. It’s beautiful and natural”.
And she’s 100% right! But you know what isn’t natural? Hate.
When we posted about Camila getting body shamed on our Twitter, the overwhelming majority were positive messages for Camila, followed by the trending hashtag “Only Love for Camila”
People mostly wrote messages like this one “It’s not right for her to be getting hate because she is happy with her best friend…she is beautiful, caring, kind, and loving”
and some called out the Shawn Mendes fans at the pit of this
“These ‘fans’ of Shawn aren’t fans. Sorry not sorry”
Of course it’s just a small portion of people who are probably just jealous of their relationship. Most Shawn Mendes fans fully support Camila – as they should!
