Say what you want about Cardi B, but you can’t say the woman doesn’t have a very PARTICULAR style. OKURRRR?
What’s up y’all?! It’s Emile Ennis Jr. here and I don’t know about you, but people are ob-SESSED with Cardi’s style. Cardi just spoke with ELLE.com about the second collection she’s launching with Fashion Nova. She had a few important words of wisdom that she hopes to impart onto Kulture, too.
When it comes to heels, Cardi kept it real. She admitted- heels make everything sexier. She said QUOTE: They contour your body way better. They make your legs look prettier. They put your butt higher.
Anyway, Cardi said she was just a kid when she started messing around with heels. She added that if Kulture wanted to wear heels, she’d actually be allowed to- but only while she was home. That was the same rule Cardi had growing up- heels were to be worn inside and never to leave the house.
When it comes to fashion as a whole, Cardi wants to teach Kulture one thing. She said QUOTE “the first lesson I want her to know is don’t be too extra.”
Cardi may be a little extra when it comes to taking fashion risks, but she never pushes past the boundary into “tacky” territory. She added QUOTE: Elegance takes it all, every time. You can never go wrong with elegance.
She proved this at the Met Gala in her look designed by Thom Brown. The deep red look was an absolute show stopper.
Cardi’s newest Fashion Nova collection is out now, and this’ll be a little different from her last collection, which had a more, in her words, “corporate and poppin’” vibe.
She said this newest collection was inspired by 80s and 90s style. She couldn’t pick a favorite piece from the collection, but she did say the looks are a lot sexier than her last collection. So expect to see a lot of skin! And that we did last night at the launch of Season 2 of her collaboration. She took the stage in a neon green outfit and performed in front of tons of celebs and influencers at the Palladium in LA.
