'Cautious optimism' among Tory rebels on reversing foreign aid cuts

Tory MP Tom Tugendhat, who is chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee, said there is cautious optimism among Conservative rebels hoping to force Boris Johnson to reverse foreign aid cuts.

A total of 30 Tory MPs, including former Prime Minister Theresa May, have supported an amendment which would require new legislation to make up the shortfall left by the cut to the UK’s official development assistance.
