Charles acknowledges 'stain' of the 'atrocity of slavery' in Barbados

Prince Charles has apologised for the history of slavery in the Caribbean.

The apology came during a ceremony to mark Barbados’ transition to a republic and the formal removal of the Queen as head of state.

The Prince acknowledged “the appalling atrocity of slavery”, saying “it forever stains our history”.
