Cher helps rescue ‘world’s loneliest elephant’ from Pakistan zoo

Singer and actress Cher has travelled to Pakistan to help save an elephant who has spent decades chained up and mistreated in a zoo in Islamabad.

Kaavan has been alone since his partner died in 2012, has become obese due to a poor diet, and suffers with behavioural issues.

The battle to have him relocated began in 2016 and four years later, with the help of the pop superstar, he has now been relocated to an animal sanctuary in Cambodia.
