Chinese whistleblower describes torture in Uyghur ‘re-education’ camps

A Chinese whistleblower has told Sky News that Uyghur Muslim detainees are herded onto trains and tortured in so-called ‘re-education centres’.

Chinese authorities claim the camps are to combat terrorism and deny ill-treatment of Uyghurs, but Sky News has been given a very different account by a former policeman.

However, a spokesperson for the Xinjiang government told Sky News the allegations ‘could not happen’.
