Sen. Chuck Schumer said Tucker Carlson “cherry-picked” video from calmer moments of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot and lied to his Fox News audience.

Carlson aired a segment on Monday night that inaccurately depicted the riot as a peaceful gathering where Carlson describes the Capitol rioters as “orderly and meek” and “sightseers.”
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy gave Carlson and Fox News exclusive access to over 41,000 hours of Capitol Security footage. McCarthy’s decision has drawn criticism from lawmakers from both sides of the aisle.
“Last night, millions of Americans tuned into one of the most shameful hours we have ever seen on cable television,”Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., on the Senate floor Tuesday.
