Cierra Ortega has officially broken her silence after being removed from Love Island USA, following the resurfacing of old Instagram messages where she used a racist slur against Asian people.
In a five-minute video she called “an accountability video”—not an apology—Cierra claimed she didn’t know the term was a slur at the time and says she stopped using it in 2024 after a follower called her out.
Ortega also stated she agrees with the decision to remove her from the villa. Her statement comes after her family revealed they’ve been receiving death threats, calling the online backlash “heartbreaking” and “beyond accountability.” Now, some online are questioning whether the internet’s gone too far.
