A CNN personality blasted the Department of Justice Monday for the slow pace of its investigation into first son Hunter Biden, calling it “beyond anything” he has ever seen.
“This is preposterous,” senior legal analyst Elie Honig said during the network’s coverage of the federal indictment against former President Donald Trump. ”This has been pending, according to our reporting at CNN, since 2018 – five years.”
The DOJ has been investigating President Biden’s 53-year-old son over possible violations of tax and money laundering laws stemming from his international business deals with Chinese and Ukrainian entities.
Hunter Biden is also under investigation for a possible false statement related to a gun purchase, a probe that that was initiated after his sister-in-law-turned-lover, Hallie Biden, threw away his handgun — leading to a search by Secret Service agents and a disclosure of the weapon’s sale to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
An October 2018 gun purchase form revealed Hunter – a crack cocaine addict at the time – answered “no” when asked: “Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?”
