Black Lives Matter campaigner Jen Reid says the trial of the Colston four was ‘a waste of taxpayers’ money’ and ‘should never have happened’.
She said ‘justice was done’ after the four protesters who toppled the statue of slave trader Edward Colston were cleared of causing criminal damage.
A statue of Ms Reid with her fist in the air was erected in place of Colston but was removed just 24 hours later by Bristol City Council.
