COVID-19: Anger as ‘jabless’ Djokovic given green light to play Australian Open

There’s fury in Australia after the world’s No 1 tennis player was given a vaccine waiver to play in the Australian Open.

Tennis Australia said the Serbian player had been awarded a medical exemption.

Djokovic has repeatedly refused to say whether he has been jabbed and says taking the COVID vaccination should be an “individual choice”.

Melbourne, the competition’s host city, has endured one of the world’s toughest and longest lockdowns.
