The Health Secretary has confirmed that the UK has ordered five million doses of a promising new vaccine, which could be delivered to the UK ready to rollout in Spring.
Matt Hancock said preliminary trials showed the Moderna vaccine to be 94.5 % effective.
‘We can see the candle of hope,’ he said, but warned that people must keep following COVID-19 restrictions until a scientific breakthrough.
